My, how time flies!!

Well, we're fast approaching the middle of February 2023 and I feel like we only just finished packing up from Christmas and New Years day shenanigans! Eek! It's been a wild start to the year, with school holidays, summer fun, camping and a good ol' fashioned cold/flu that knocked me about for a week. But we're on the straight and narrow now and are excited for another amazing year ahead.

As a clinic, we know that we are on the precipice of a huge amount of growth and being able to help a lot more people. This is a responsibility that we don't take lightly and there has been background work going on for quite some time to make sure that any new team members are up to the task of continuing the world class standard of care that we expect (and that you deserve).

As we look inwards and reflect on what we do and how we do it with the goal of improving what we do and express outwardly (how we help you), it's important to share what areas of improvement we are focusing on. Our mission to create meaninful, lasting change for people with pain and to improve their quality of life means that we want to be able to focus on people what are ready and willing to take charge of their pain and recovery. There can be an expectation that a clinician or therapist is there to 'fix' something. Whilst that message is still advertised through many clinics and health care professions, it's just not true or honest. So we want to have a greater focus on educating potential patients, trainers, coaches and other clinicians and to better build the necessary base of understanding upon which effective change can occur.

An important consequence of this approach is that it means that we develop longer and more meaningful connections with our patients. We are able to focus much more on each individual patient because we aren't scrambling to try and get as many people as possible through the doors. Our focus is on quality, not quantity and this keeps us more than 'busy enough'. All of this occurs through the intention of helping our patients become so confident and trusting of their body by feeling strong and healthy that they are in charge of choosing when they are ready to continue that journey without us. It's not a relationship of dependence.

So as we move forward in this already rapidly passing year, expect to see plenty of renewed vigour, passion and purpose as we continue our efforts to redefine what health care is and should be!

As always, train smart and train hard 🙂
